Achilles

New York City Marathon

With the sun in the sky, it’s time to think about getting the workout out of the gym. I came across this picture going through my iPhone. It’s from last year’s NYC marathon, where I raised money for Achilles International: an awesome charity helping disabled people to participate in mainstream athletic events.

The marathon is a definite highlight of the athletic calendar, and a great focus point for a summer training program. This year’s event is held on November 4th and the deadline is 11:59 p.m. on April 2, so there’s still time to apply. If you haven’t got a charity in mind, you can see a list of great causes here.

This also let’s me plug GoGreen Bootcamp. Combining forces with a bunch of the city’s best trainers, we take your fitness program outdoors. Study after study shows that exercising in the open air has amazing benefits for your mental and physical well-being. And we believe people often overlook the natural beauty NYC has to offer. If you’d like to organise a training session, or know someone who you think would, get in touch at david@gogreenbootcamp.com, on facebook, or on twitter.

So, let’s get outdoors, go green… and run the marathon!!
